About this product

Carpenter & Flat Pencils

A carpenter pencil is flat for two reasons: it does not roll off a sloping surface, and its wide rectangular core lays down a line that stays visible on rough sawn timber where a fine point would simply disappear into the grain.

It is sharpened with a knife rather than a rotary sharpener, which is why the barrel is soft-grained and generously sized. A hard cheap barrel makes that job unpleasant and blunts the knife.

These are the single most-kept branded item in the building trade, because they live in a pocket for months. That is a long time for a logo to stay in someone’s hand, which is why merchants order them by the thousand.

Builders’ merchants, trade counters, contractors and toolmakers. Send your artwork for a free mockup and quote on carpenter pencils today.

FAQ

Carpenter & Flat Pencils: quick answers

What is the minimum order for carpenter pencils?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why not just use a normal pencil on site?
A fine point disappears into rough grain and snaps on masonry. The wide flat core is the entire reason this shape exists, and it is why a round pencil never gets used twice on a building site.
How are they sharpened?
With a knife, or a dedicated flat sharpener. They will not fit a standard rotary sharpener, which is worth saying if they are going somewhere without a knife.
